Camille reached out to me wanting to take some photos in celebration of not only of her birthday but her fitness journey. I had been following her on social media for years and her posts have always inspired me, so I was really excited to share her story with you guys.

Camille made a huge jump from being a professional MUA, to an athlete and weightlifting coach at this CrossFit Gym.

I want to mention that this isn’t a story to sell you any “get-fit-fast” schemes. This is about one mamas hard work and dedication and her insights on how you can take steps to start your own fitness journey.

Fitness is a journey and it can have so many ups and downs. How did you start yours and what obstacles did you face along the way?

Camille: After having my son, I was really unhappy with how my body looked. When I finally had the chance, I signed up to a CrossFit gym and ever since then I haven’t stopped going! Figuring out a routine was difficult but once I found one that worked for me – I was on my way to the top!

“You have to be dedicated. I recommend writing down goals for yourself.” – Camille Capeles.

What was one of your biggest fitness goals? Did you have a mentor that helped you achieve it?

Camille: At first my goal was just to get in shape, but once I started seeing how fast I was progressing my main goal became getting as strong as possible — Now I lift just as much as the guys!! haha The coaches helped me TREMENDOUSLY and you know they also really help you realize, you’re much stronger than you think you are.

What’s your current workout routine cause girl your thighs are GOALS!!

Camille: My current workout. routine is still Crossfit. Crossfit stands for cross training, so that means we do a mix of cardio, weightlifting and gymnastics. I work out 5 days a week and I take the weekends to rest. People immediately get intimidated when they hear Crossfit but anyone can do it. The workouts can always be modified to fit your needs. One of the things I love the most about Crossfit is that they are done in group classes, so you feel motivated working out with other people, who share the same fitness goals, it pushes you to work harder. I recommend it to everyone because it has really changed my life.

Strong is the new beautiful!

To wrap this up, what tips/insights do you have for other mamas who may have recently had a baby and want to start their fitness journey? Where you you recommend starting?

Camille: I tell other moms to start when they’re ready — mentally ready. I didn’t feel confident for so many years and one day I just woke up and told myself this is enough, I need to change something. I did my research on Crossfit gyms around my area and signed up for a free trial class. The rest is history!

You have to be dedicated. I recommend writing down goals for yourself and start finding ways to achieve them. Little by little you WILL see progress, it’s going to be hard, you will want to give up but thats when you push yourself harder, to be the best possible version of yourself you can be.

I’m so happy that I was able to share all of this with you guys. Are you an Orlando mama wanting to start your fitness journey? Take the first step, wake up and tell yourself this is enough! You can follow Camille here for more fitness inspiration. No fake teas or wraps — just hard work girl!
